Add egg and water and mix. Add water as necessary to achieve a batter like consistency. If you have “water” from thawing apples use this first in place of tap water.
Mix in apple chunks into the batter
Heat up your oil – Leave the apple batter about 10 minutes to rest for the leavening agents to work.
Drop fritter batter into the hot oil. When bubbling slows which indicates most moisture has been baked out remove from the oil and drip dry.
When cool dust fritters with icing sugar and enjoy.
