Buns in the Wood Fired Oven
Our homebuilt wood fired pizza oven gets a lot of use through the year and not just for pizza.
But pizza is usually a weekly ritual – and when I make up a batch of pizza dough I like to make it extra large so that I can make some regular pizzas, often a desert pizza AND a bunch of buns.
As the oven cools off after the pizzas have cooked the buns are slipped and slowly bake in the cooling oven making use of the fading heat and the coals without needing additional wood.
These make great buns for lunchesĀ for the next couple of days for little cost or extra effort.
